Don't Stop Readin'

Hi guys, I'm Anushka (or Annie, if you like). I'm a serial reader and a more-than-occasional reviewer and I like to mention authors by their names in my reviews. (Ha! Suck it GoodReads!)

Vengeance - Kate Brian
*takes a deep breath*
This book was surprisingly good, after the fiasco previous 4 books had been, this one turned out be a surprise. I am so relieved that Kate Brian managed to return to her usual form and deliver a good end to this series. There were many, MANY holes in the story but the suspense and drama made me nearly forget all of that.

SPOILERS AHEAD

First thing, the story of witchcraft and wizardry saw no closure. None at all. Ominous was all about Billings being a coven, those 11 girls being turned into witches, Reed being a psychic, Kiki even managed to do a few tricks...but all of that was thoroughly ignored in this book as it never happened, as if the 13th book was never even written.
I was anxious to know about things like who gave Reed the Book of Spells, and if they hadn't turned into witches who made the things around them happen as if they were. How did Reed's dream come true and Ivy's visions right. I assumed there'd be some kind of explanation that Reed's room was bugged or something like that, but no. Nothing was unveiled and that was a HUGE setback..or else this would have been a 4-stars book.

Upton was totally sidelined too. Reed never revealed true nature of her relationship with him to Josh. She was falling in love with him and they were about to have sex on New Year's eve! but she never told Josh about it...which seemed kind of unfair to me.

Then I wish there was an epilogue which told us which college Reed gets into and her relationship status with Josh (whom I absolutely adore <3) but the book ended with Reed going back to her home and her boyfriend didn't even come to say goodbye! :<br/>

Despite all these flaws, this installment was very gripping and that BIG SECRET was just mindblowing!
I may or may not read it's spin-off Privilege , I'm not sure as I am not Arianna's biggest fan. I actually liked her in first 3 books but she turned out to be a total psycho bitch by Confessions which is not my thing.
